🎭 Culture
On Monday, the North Carolina Arts Council awarded nearly $11 million in grants for fiscal 2026-27 to 340 arts organizations statewide, including $130,930 for Iredell Arts Council to boost local programs + strengthen community arts.
🎓 Education
Iredell-Statesville school board members discussed three redistricting options Monday night—considering proposals that would shift students to the new Weathers Creek High School in Troutman, which is set to open for the 2027-28 school year.
Iredell-Statesville Schools approved a redistricting plan that shifts some Lake Norman students to South Iredell High and prepares for Weathers Creek High to open next fall with 759 students.
The board also set new boundaries for Parkertown Elementary ahead of its 2027-2028 opening.
🏛️ Government
The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization launched a study called Safety is No Accident to learn about roadway safety issues.
Residents can share their feedback online from Sept. 14 to Oct. 25 + help shape a regional plan to reduce traffic injuries.
